I am a degree qualified and experienced Quality Assurance Engineer/Manager who is self-motivated and highly focused to sustain and develop quality methods in order to support and improve business performance through team motivation, leadership, participation and interaction.

Key to my approach to quality is to ensure I introduce meaningful KPIs’ to baseline current activities, to set realistic and achievable targets and to communicate quality performance, activities and concerns both cross functionally and externally.

I have a pro-active attitude and adopt key six-sigma tools and techniques in order to support my approach to quality chiefly 8D, Control Plans, FMECA, 5S and value stream mapping.

Above all, I bring an open, honest, approachable, committed yet relaxed style to work which enhances working relationships in order to maximise the business approach to quality.

Why is he a good Candidate?

  • Excellent communicator.
  • Experienced in problem solving and use established tools including 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa and Is/Is Not.
  • Confident in leading teams and have the ability to ‘get on aboard’ customers and suppliers which harmonises working relationships.
  • ISO 9001.

3 Most important factors in next role:

  1. To work for an organisation who puts quality first through its culture.

  2. Training, development and progression.

  3. Salary and location.

3 Greatest achievements:

  1. Recurring issues from two major semiconductor companies resulted in a downturn in business levels. 8D process included a customer visit to review their incoming inspection and handling methods. Root cause identified as being supplier related with some in-house and customer contributory causes. Returns reduced by approximately 5%, cost savings around $15,000 and customer confidence levels restored.

  2. Reduced component quantities held in WIP to improve rework rates within the assembly process (£85,000). Improved cycle time (£71,000) of wheelset Final Inspections by analysing KPI trends through Pareto Analysis.

  3. Responsible for the development and continuous improvement initiatives of critical overhaul projects including CL390 'Pendolino' heavy overhaul, Hitachi 'Javelin' CTRL, V-Tec HST fleet, London Underground, Freightliner and DB Cargo.
