Production manager with over 14 years managerial experience within the chemical industry especially but open to new industries. Can adapt to changing cultures and make managerial decisions to ensure the safe efficient running of a high profile manufacturing plant.

Why are they a good candidate?

  • Natural leader – able to get the best out of a workforce by working with and keeping them informed of progress changes. Will set examples and lead from the front – not afraid of getting hands dirty.
  • Coming from an analytical background, I have an eye for quality and a technical understanding of production processes.
  • Can be relied upon to make reasoned decisions and trusted with responsibility.
  • Quickly adaptable to new roles and situations – can find similarities from previous experiences and apply solutions where appropriate.

3 Greatest Achievements

  1. Reviewed and renewed all production SOPs at last company. Reduced the total from over 700 to around 350 ensuring all duplications, redundant instructions, products, and kit were removed. Ensured that all remaining SOPs were of the same format and had the correct cross references for safety, quality, and specifications.

  2. Restructured the production shifts at previous company after the 24/7 operation became 24/5 operation. Efficiency had to be maximised on each production line to minimise volume loss. Each line was scrutinised, and existing working practices questioned with the cooperation of the new shifts. The outcome was around a day’s loss of average production per week when there was a 2-day reduction in actual production.

  3. Taking over the role of production manager at previous company reporting directly to the MD. A more senior role than I had previously held and one that involved a much more operational outlook. My responsibilities encompassed FG/RM warehousing including RM/packaging ordering, direct from customer orders to production planning, transport organisation of company wagon deliveries, and having engineering department reports.

3 most important things about next role

  1. Job security, with a forward-looking company, that will challenge my abilities.
  2. A career opportunity with room for progression.
  3. A role that is different every day.
